A House That Breathes With Its Surroundings | David Hu’s Sea Girt House oscillates gracefully between a sort of proto minimalism and a hyper orchestrated spatial awareness. | A deeply contemplative odyssey. A highly environmentally filial endeavour. A project that makes no bones about its purpose of providing a single-minded solitude for its inhabitant, even while demonstrating its unwavering solicitude towards its surrounding environment. | Beach houses are always meant to provide a combination of comfort, security, and beauty. But rarely do they do so with this level of articulation. | This house, if we’re honest, is inviting on the surface, but endlessly gifted with surprises. Small details, and thoroughly intentional minor features, that clearly demonstrate the difference between ‘art’, and art.
